The fires in LA are tragic and one cannot help feeling sympathy for those who have lost their possessions.

Imagine if all that damage had been done not by a natural disaster but by another, more powerful neighbouring country.
Imagine if the richest country in the world had supported and facilitated the destruction (along with our own UK government).

Imagine if the area destroyed wasn't 140ish square km but 70-80% of the total country (300 plus Square km)
Imagine if it wasn't 12,000 structures destroyed but 10 times that amount - 60% of the total buildings in the country.
Imagine if the death toll wasn't currently 11 but 42,000 (including nearly 20,000 children).
Imagine if the total number of people displaced wasn't 150,000 people evacuated (displaced) but 1.9million! - 90% of the population.
Imagine if the people could not expect aid to pour in to help them and that they wouldn't be kept fed and watered, have medicine available. Instead they would be isolated inside a confined area (not allowed to leave, no-one allowed to enter except by the authority of the country doing the destroying and killing).
Imagine if the victims were systematically denied, food and medicines.
Imagine if every single hospital in the country had also been targeted and destroyed.
